Our NameThe Boonslick Region of Central Missouri gets its name from Daniel Boone, who explored this area and found natural salt licks. We are proud to be one of many organizations to incorporate "Boonslick" in our name because of its rich heritage. The "Chordbusters" are a group of individuals who enjoy singing unaccompanied music in a style known as "Barbershop".
Our GroupThe Boonslick Chordbusters are men who like to sing a cappella (unaccompanied) four-part harmony. We are a chapter in the Central States District of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) (formerly known as the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America - SPEBSQSA). We have about 30 members. Our membership consists of a number of professions and backgrounds, and we consider our diversity to be a great source of strength for the organization. During the day we are bankers, news reporters, engineers, teachers, and yes, even billiard table salesmen - but on Thursday nights (and other times as needed), we become organizers, spokesmen, set builders, salesmen, choreographers, advertising professionals and others who help with all those other tasks that go into making our organization successful (oh yes, we sing, too!). (Click here to see our current officers . . .) No matter what your background, you'll find a home with us. |
