The Boonslick Chordbusters are very proud to be recommended for a Presentation Grant made available through Columbia’s Cultural Affairs Commission. (http://www.ci.columbia.mo.us/dept/culture/)

The Commission received and reviewed over 28 grant requests this year totaling more than 140 thousand dollars.  They made some tough decisions and ultimately award 70 thousand dollars worth of grants to 24 recipients.  These recommendations still need the approval of the Columbia City Council.  The issue is set for review in August.

The funds are made available to promote the arts in Columbia.  They help to enhance the vitality of the city and the quality of life for all Columbia citizens by creating an environment wherein artists and cultural organizations can thrive, and fostering opportunities for creative expression and the preservation and celebration of the city's multi-cultural heritage.

The Boonslick Chordbusters will use the funds to promote their concerts and help defer the costs of bringing in top quality quartets and choruses for the shows in October and December of 2001.
