The top quartets from the CSD will compete for the opportunity to advance to the international competition in Portland this summer. Also scheduled to compete will be the quartet Four Voices, who coincidentally was one of the headliner quartets on the Boonslick Chordbusters' 2001 Fall Show. The top ten CSD quartets from Friday's competition (and any qualifying quartets from other districts), will advance to the finals on Saturday evening. Chorus Competition. The "plateau A" choruses (less than 40 members) compete each spring for the title of CSD Small Chorus Champion. Last year, in their final small chorus competition, the Boonslick Chordbusters placed second and received the Most Improved Chorus Award. The chorus from Dennison, IA won last year's competition. College Quartet Competition. Another very exciting event held each spring is the College Quartet Competition. When it comes to College Quartets, the CSD is one of the more active districts, with a long list of international appearances to their credit. The Boonslick Chordbusters introduced their own College Quartet Program last year. Saturday Night Showcase. The finale of the weekend will be an evening showcase featuring the top performing quartets and choruses from the weekend, as well as an appearance by the host Boonslick Chordbusters chorus. |
